W omen should make use of the advantages they have well knowing that the government of Rwanda supports them.

“The role of women in the development of Nyagatare district” was the theme of this general assembly. The achievements of women concerning the 4 pillars of the government of Rwanda were discussed.

In economy, job creation projects, working with financial institutions like sectors’ SACCO were discussed and it was revealed that only 38% of women get financial institutions services.

“All sectors in the country are working towards the development of women; no project can be supported without strategies to promote women. You should make advantage of that and reach your summit” said Honorable Jeane d’Arc Uwimanimpaye during the general assembly.

Hon Jeanne d’Arc Uwimanimpaye went on to say that the fact that there is a need to promote women in the politics of Rwanda, women should take advantage of that and be more productive and women with integrity as it a vow for women in Nyagatare district.

According to Mebra Ahimbisibwe who was in attendance of this general assembly from Kiyombe sector says she is going to encourage use of financial services from banks in women she leads as a way of promoting women independence.

She says that most of the women she leads Kabungo cell are working with Sectors SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperatives. She is going to encourage sensitization of financial services to all women with the help of CNF workers.

If women work as well as men towards the development of their families, it will reduce family conflicts and gender based abuse that is usually done to women who depend on their husbands to provide.

Some of the coordinators of CNF in the sectors were appreciated depending on their achievements especially projects for the development of the women in their areas.

This general assembly discussed the way people’s development will be viewed in terms of millennium developmental goals.
