Some of the women from a group called “Ibimina” after winning in a sharing of getting money and also keeping it and lending money. This helped them get a chance of getting the home essentials.

This sharing of the money helps family members get loans especially those ones that can use the money and get a profit, in businesses, farming, and also people who want to solve problems of their children’s school fees and also problems of sickness.

Josephine Urusaro, a member of a group Dusasirane in Muganza cell in Runda sector, says she started a business of selling beans in markets after getting money from the group. She says she got 10000Rwf which she used to buy beans and after one month she paid the money back plus an interest of 5% and also the capital she is still using up to now.

Jeanne Nishimwe in another group called “Twisungane babyeyi”in Buguri cell, Rikoma sector says that “being in this group helps her lot especially if she wants to buy cloths, and also helping her husband on the issue of school fees. She adds on that whenever they have a problem of school fees for their child she talks to her husband, and then gets a loan from the group.”

Nishimwe says these groups have helped people with big problems that may lead to selling their livestock at a low price, since they may not have anywhere to turn to. She adds on that she never gets such problems since in their group after sharing the money she can always solve them, and at the end of the sharing the groups’ money is already in the box for the year.

In these groups they put a share of money that is supposed to be paid on each day agreed upon, and a fine is put for people who do not pay the money or miss the day they are supposed to pay it.

When you join a group you have to do everything possible to see that when the day of sharing gets you will not have to miss on the sharing of the money and then get a punishment. As such, every individual is supposed to get something from which she can get money at least to pay to their groups.

Consulate Mukakarisa a resident in Masaka cell, in Rugarika sector, and a member in about 4 groups says that the shares she is supposed to pay mount to about 6500Rwf per month.

“To get this money I sell cassava and also buy bananas from which I get the local beer that I sell ,but I still do my house cores, “says Mukakarisa, adding on that since she is a widow her home has to see some development.

Onetime I was traveling from Kampala on a jaguar coach, and there was this young lady who kept removing her makeup kit and kept applying lip balm, and powder on her face and then combing her hair. It looked somehow annoying and irritating at first but then I came to realize how every woman here in Rwanda can not do with out make up on their faces and what a big part it played on everyone’s beauty except me if I should say.

Makeup has been and will always be an essential to every woman except for those who really have a bad attitude on the whole thing.

In this era, a woman moving out of the house with out any sign of cosmetics or makeup on her face is regarded as on who doesn’t take care of herself and her general appearance by many. It is no longer a city thing to apply make up for women but also the rural women have adopted this idea so as to keep looking beautiful at all times.

Many women claim that wearing make up makes them feel good, beautiful in general but there are those who wear it because of the pressure that they face from their fellow women say at work, school and at any other place where they may be. Whatever case it might be, every woman has to keep to modernity as most claim, and therefore most can not do without makeup though others do wear it due to many other different reason.

Some women do choose to wear make up because of the role it plays in covering up some things on their faces. Make up serves as a brightener on the face and it does camouflage blemishes on the face, the visible pores, pimples and scars that someone might have. As such women with such issues, find their only remedy in wearing make up.

Since the first thing every one notices on a woman is her face, make up has acted as a very good confidence booster in most women. They do wear it with claims of it giving them confidence to stand through everyday. If make up is applied skillfully, then a woman with low confidence is able to move out ready for whatever may happen during the day. Make up acts as a natural self confidence booster in this case.

The other reason why most women can not do without make up is that it enhances their natural beauty and also their physical alluring. One may have beautiful lips but she feels she will look more beautiful with lipstick on them and sexier. Not many love wearing lipsticks for example but few will go out without a lip gloss on the lips for that reason.

Having known how essential makeup is for every Rwandan woman, there is a need to know what then every woman should include in her make up bag or “toilette bags” as they are referred to.

Foundation is one item of makeup that should not miss in anyone’s make up bag. Should be a good one though this does not mean it must be expensive. You could use the likes of mac, cover girl queen collection, fashion fair, all these according to one’s choice and ability to buy such.

Add some assorted lip glosses. With a mixture of different colors of lip gloss, one would create different looks every now and then.

Black and brown eyeliners should never miss in your makeup bag, mascara, a concealer which will help you look refreshed at all times, powder, eye shadow, a mirror of course, lipstick, eye pencils black and brown, among others.

Soya is a very rich and nutritious crop compared to other dry vegetables and it is capable of healing and preventing some diseases and a person can eat as much as he/she wants.

Fresh Soya from the harvest

In the discussion with Dr. Fred Muhairwe the director of Byumba hospital in Gicumbi district, he said that Soya is both food and medicine and he explained that the good thing about soya, it does not have cholesterol that causes fat which is the causes of blood pressure diseases and others.

Soya as food, Dr. Fred Muhairwe said that soya is nutritious and can be of great help to people eating badly and malnourished children, it is very rich in body building than meat, it has much calcium than milk and has Vitamins B1, B2, and B6 more than eggs.

Soya lacks vitamin C and vitamin A and it is capable of reducing fatty acids in the body and it increases mineral salts in the body mainly to the old. Soya also lacks sodium which retains water in the body and that is why soya should be given to people with heart problems and it is good for digestion as it has alimentary fibers.

Soya has nutrients that fight diseases as it makes cells that make cancer dysfunctional.

Dr. Fred Muhairwe said that for women eating soya or its products most of the times balances the hormones in their bodies and is good for good functioning of their bodies.

“It is good for women with breast cancer or those who want to protect themselves from breast cancer and it ensures regular flow of a woman’s menstruation period before menopause and regulates the problems caused by menopause” says Dr. Fred Muhairwe.
